GROUNDWORKS INDUSTRIES SIGNS AGREEMENT TO ACQUIRE ROSE CITY WELLNESS IN PORTLAND’S OLDTOWN NEIGHBORHOOD

Growing Portland-based cannabis company, Groundworks Industries has started the preliminary steps of acquiring Old Town/Chinatown neighborhood dispensary Rose City Wellness.

The only shop to serve this part of town on the inner Westside, Rose City has been a beacon of affordable, quality flower and vapeables in the historic area just north of Burnside Street since the medical days of 2014. The space—located around the corner from the ornate Chinatown paifang gate that introduces visitors to the neighborhood—sits between many shopping and cultural destinations, from the Hoxton and Society Hotels to the Lan Su Chinese Garden and sneakerhead hub, Index.

Rose City Wellness will be the second Groundworks dispensary in the downtown area, joining Serra on SW 1st Avenue. This development comes amid consolidation in the crowded Oregon industry—and in efforts to strengthen Oregon’s industry, Groundworks expects to make more moves.

Established in Portland in 2014, Groundworks Industries employs over 150 Oregonians. Brands include Serra, Electric Lettuce, Farma and Pruf Cultivar.
