Groundworks Industries has agreed to pursue acquisition of SW Portland-area dispensary, The Herbary. Back when the Herbary first opened as a medical dispensary in 2015, it was the first legal cannabis business to do so in the Tigard area.

The Herbary owners earned impressive levels of support in those early years, partly due to an educational approach when talking to locals about the differences between CBD-dominant and THC-dominant products, but largely because of an open, communicative dynamic with the surrounding community that helped erode any stigma towards her new business.

With a convenient, spacious location just off I-5, the Herbary grew into a popular stop for Tigard and Lake Oswego natives on their way home from work in Portland and Beaverton. This development comes amid consolidation in the crowded Oregon industry—and in efforts to strengthen Oregon’s industry, Groundworks expects to make more moves.

Established in Portland in 2014, Groundworks Industries employs over 200 Oregonians and is among the largest Oregon-owned and operated cannabis companies. Brands include Serra, Electric Lettuce, Pruf Cultivar, Farma, and Canna-Daddy’s, among others. Learn more at gw-ind.com.
